The Wood County Recreation Commission was developed on September 27, 1945 by members of the Wood County Commission, City of Parkersburg, City of Vienna and the Wood County Board of Education.  In 1985 Vienna withdrew from WCRC.  The mission of WCRC is to provide quality, affordable recreation opportunities for all ages within Parkersburg and surrounding areas; but our central focus is very much found in making a significant impact on our youth.  Our goal is to expose our youth to low-cost activities that could transform into lifelong hobbies. All programs and events we offer can be found on our homepage and the drop down menu under “events.” Scholarships are offered with certain programs to provide financial assistance to participants who may qualify. For more information and to receive a scholarship application please contact us.
